Gary Cattarin returned to his youthful running roots in his early forties after a twenty-something-year break and has now been at it for nearly twenty years, or about eighty pairs of shoes. He’s a veteran of thirty-something marathons including fourteen Bostons, races on the Central Mass Striders masters team (and formerly raced on the Greater Boston Track Club masters team), and runs locally with the Highland City Striders. His other passion (besides his amazing wife and awesome grown kids) is hiking, where he wrapped up the Adirondack 46ers, Northeast 111, and New England Hundred Highest summits and has since sworn off peak lists. In his copious spare time he occasionally writes The Second Lap blog where he tries to find and spread joy while navigating the hurdles of being an aging runner.
